Plus, you want the highest degree of safety, comfort, and refinement available in your price range.
A frontrunner in the electric vehicle segment, Tesla has inspired some staunch competition. Tesla may still hold the blue ribbon for efficiency, but the Mustang Mach-E® gives it a good run for its money in many other categories.
Performance and Efficiency
Both the Ford Mustang Mach-E® and the Tesla Model 3 offer a standard-range battery and an extended (or long) range battery. Both offer rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) models.Ford's eAWD (available on Select and Premium trims; standard on California route 1 and GT trims) is powered by a dual motor system. The rear axle is paired with the primary electric motor. A secondary electric motor powers the front axle. This powertrain platform helps improve traction and boost performance.
Tesla's AWD is also powered by two independent electric motors for improved redundancy.
Performance
The Ford Mustang Mach-E® races from 0 to 60 mph in 5.8 seconds with the standard-range battery/RWD setup. With the extended-range battery/eAWD configuration, the Mach-E® gets to 60 mph in only 4.8 seconds.Keeping true to its muscle car heritage, the Mustang Mach-E® GT Performance Edition completes a 0 to 60-mph sprint in 3.5 seconds. Although impressive, that's still not quite enough to beat Tesla's Model 3 Performance model.
Similar to its pony car counterpart, Tesla's base Model 3 is equipped with a standard-range battery and RWD and accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 5.8 seconds. The Model 3 long-range AWD gets there in 4.2 seconds.
The model 3 Performance edition taps into its horsepower to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in a G-force-like 3.1 seconds and claims a top speed of 162 mph.

The driving range of any electric vehicle depends on its specifications. Battery pack size and drivetrain make a difference. The EPA-rated range for the Mach-E® series breaks down like this:70-kWh standard-range battery: 224 (eAWD) to 247 (RWD) EPA-estimated miles of range*
91-kWh extended-range battery: 290 (eAWD) to 312 (RWD) EPA-estimated miles of range*
